Who is the Musketawa Kid?
Denver, CO
Joshua Dean Guiles, known as The Musketawa Kid, grew up in the country in West Michigan, where wide-open land and long days outside shaped the rhythm of his life. Driven by a deep passion for music, he has always had bass in his bones.
His musical path began early as the lead guitarist in a screamo band, where loud rooms, raw emotion, and high-energy performances formed the foundation of his creative identity. Over time that passion evolved beyond the stage. Today he works across multiple corners of the industry: curating, producing, and promoting music and live events within the EDM, rock, and jam band scenes. He also spent four years operating a record label and music festival, gaining firsthand experience building culture around music rather than simply performing it.
The name The Musketawa Kid traces back to his childhood. Growing up before smartphones and social media, life felt closer to the frontier than the digital world that exists today. Joshua and his friends spent their days riding BMX bikes through the woods and exploring the area on two wheels. Right outside their homes ran the Musketawa Trail, a bike path that became a central part of those early adventures. The name carries that nostalgia with it...something personal, grounded, and authentic to where he came from.
Today, The Musketawa Kid brings that same spirit into every project he touches, whether in the studio, behind the decks, or creating spaces where people connect through sound.
